9:00 -  Welcome, introductions, overview of the day ahead - Lay Convocation Committee 9:15 -  Morning Prayer and Presentation on Communication - Donna Couch Musicians - Margaret Scharf, O.P. and Vern Nelson Begin in liturgy to ground the day in Holy Scripture, tradition and  acknowledgement of the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Include principles of non-violent communication and holy listening to establish some common language for the day and to foster a day of agape love.  Emphasize a tone of respect for those who might have different ideas, formed by diverse experiences.   10:20 - The Obligations and Rights of the Laity - Phil Johnston, Ph.D. Resources: Canons 208 - 223 Acts 6: 1-6 Vatican II Documents:  Lumen Gentium, Gaudium et Spes, Dignitatis Humanae Breakout sessions of no more than 10 participants per small group for a total of 30 to determine our joys, deserts and hopes with the church.  Assess our commitment to the church through areas in which we minister and areas where we desire to minister.  Each small group will have a table facilitator and scribe. 11:30 - Breakout Session I – Joys 12:15 - Lunch - Please visit the CSD Bookstore 1:15 -   Breakout Session II – Deserts 2:15 -  Breakout Session III – Hopes 3:00 -  Closing Ritual - Commitment and Commissioning Donna Couch, Margaret Scharf, O.P.
